Starting a business
I am a Senior, a female, A Veteran with VA disability and Widow of a Veteran. I love working with tools and would like to start a small business selling sign. This is what keeps me busy as I turn into a recluse. Trouble is I am making so many now and no outlet to maybe sell them. I am self funded but it gets expensive. I need to recoup some of the money spent and feel it would get me out and meeting people more like I used to. Can I get a special license allowing me to sell at craft shows or on-line? Thank you in advance, I live in AZ.
You will want to check the business licensing requirements specific to your state to find out if you need a business license as licensing laws vary by state. The Arizona Commerce Authority has a lot of great information about what it takes to start a business in Arizona, as well as what the licensing requirements are.
I hope this helps, and good luck with your business venture!
Hi Zara. What kinds of signs do you make? Are they for businesses? Or are they decor?
This would make a difference in where you sell them. If they’re for businesses, you’d approach businesses and provide examples of your work (can be a portfolio of photos).
If they’re decorative, you can try online shops like Etsy, see if you can sell at any local markets and craft shows and see if there are any shops that sell similar products that you could sell through them.
Hope this helps.
