You can start easy as an affiliate deal/blog site on WordPress using various affiliate partners that let you advertise their deals — this can be started on a shoestring or using WordPress website pros on Fiverr.com. As you become more familiar with how WordPress works, you can also look at different WordPress plugins — like WP Group Buy ($99) or DailyDeal ($59)– that deliver a more cohesive Groupon-type deal marketplace set up. Doing this yourself on WordPress or using contract freelancers to help get it going is the least expensive way to break into this. Hope this helps, good luck!

Right now, for small startups, it’s still state-based, but there are many ongoing changes that do affect relatively small sellers. Check out the latest info on Alavara.com — they’re really the leaders in ecommerce sales taxes.
