Training vs. Office use
I am trying to decide what version of QB my son needs for training purposes. I want him to eventually be a qualified (maybe certified) QB provider. At my office, I believe we use QB-Pro 2016 for our office accounting needs; we need to update to the 2018 version. I was thinking I’d just order QB 2018 and get an extra license for a computer at home so both my son and I can learn it for my business. Can you advise, please?
Hi Pam, thanks for your questions. It really depends on what version of QuickBooks you want him to learn. In my opinion, he should probably sign up for QuickBooks Online Accountant which is free. It also includes the training materials to get certified, which is also free. I’ve written an article that walks through the four steps to become a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, I have included the link below.
If you prefer that he learn how to use QuickBooks Desktop first then yes, QuickBooks Pro 2018 would be the way to go.
