I am 20 Years old and have just finished studies and am looking to start an online business selling leather goods, I am still in the research procedure and looking into some suppliers and prices, unfortunately most companies are asking for a VAT number to access prices which I do not have, in order to get a VAT number I have to register a company which I do not want to do as of yet as I am not 100% sure what i am going to name the business or get into this business as it will all depend on my circumstances and budget.
so is there any other way of getting around this without registering for a VAT number?
Probably not. In general, wholesalers will not release wholesale prices to people that don’t have a business entity and the appropriate tax number set up. That’s the same in all parts of the world. If you want to get an idea of costs, you’ll likely need to set up the basics. Hope this helps, good luck!
