Hi, I’m looking into getting my real estate license and currently live in Virginia. I’m trying to figure out if I would be able to get a license in Pennsylvania through reciprocity after having a license in VA for about a year. The wording that I keep finding seems to be a little confusing to me. We will be moving out of VA and most likely to PA by the end of next year and I am trying to see if I am better off waiting until we are moved to PA to get my license there or if I should go ahead with my educational courses in VA now.
Hi Laura,
Pennsylvania does not have reciprocity with Virginia, so unless you have a broker’s license, I am almost positive you will have to take the courses in Pennsylvania in order to get licensed there. You can visit the Pennsylvania state real estate commission website here to check if these rules still apply for 2018. http://www.dos.pa.gov/ProfessionalLicensing/BoardsCommissions/RealEstateCommission/Pages/default.aspx
