We are transitioning from a basic company with independent contractors to hiring full time employees with the expectation to grow. Please offer directions.

For a low cost HR, payroll and benefits software/service I would recommend Gusto. They start at $39 month + $6 per employee, all in. They’re half the cost of ADP with similar services, and great for small business. If I had 1-50 employees, Gusto is who I would use.
However, if you’re looking for the best price on health benefits once you get to 50 employees, a better option may be a PEO, which ‘hires’ your employees, that then leases them back to you for a fee. They’re able to get great prices on benefits, and provide additional services as your business grows, such as an EAP.
