What additional items do I need with current internet for using VoIP phone?
With my new job this summer I will be required to have a VoIP phone as part of my tools. I just installed Windstream internet in my home that includes a land line phone jack. What more will I need to do to have ability to use my internet and VoIP phone? Will there be additional charges, or will I need to change to a different package deal through Windstream?
So to understand you correctly, Windstream is your internet provider. VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) is to replace the landline you purchased. VOIP would be through a separate service that you’d connect your headset to your computer and access via the internet.
Some affordable VOIP providers are:
1. RingCentral Office
2. 8×8 X Series Cloud Service
3. Mitel MiCloud Business
Internet providers do occasionally offer VOIP service (Verizon, Comcast, etc). Ultimately this is up to you to find what best suits your needs and accommodates your new job.
Best of luck
