I’m working on a start up to benefit the travel industry. We want to gain traction and build our PR to grow our customer acquisition/retention. What PR tactics would benefit Lucid for the long run?
I think you’re hitting the nail on the head by pointing out how your website differs from other travel sites right on the homepage — this is the first thing I wondered; and I have to assume other visitors will too. Why do we need another travel website; what makes them unique?
As a first step, I would write more content about your unique angle. Start a blog and highlight a different vacation site or package each week where you have better discounts than other services. Then, you can promote these blog articles on Facebook to users who are thinking of traveling to those locations.
It’s easy to set up with Facebook’s targeted advertising system.
The next step would be adding a pixel to your website. This tracks when Facebook users view one of your blog articles or hotel listings, so you can re-broadcast the listing as an advertisement.
