What should I do? Will the license I get for West Virginia be good in Kentucky?
I am currently taking an online course to get licensed to be a real estate agent in West Virginia. I am moving to Kentucky before I will even be done with the course. What should I do? Will the license I get for West Virginia be good in Kentucky or will I have to completely redo the whole course and repay the 500?
Thanks for the question! This will vary from state to state. If Kentucky and West Virginia are “reciprocal” states or allow license portability, your license can transfer simply by retaking the state portion of the exam. Lucky for you, Kentucky happens to be one of those states that you can get full reciprocity for your license but will have to take Kentucky’s state portion of the exam, so you’d want to know its state laws for selling real estate and licensure.
Even if you were moving to a state that has zero reciprocity, you’d typically only have to take the exam, not repeat the full course.

I hope this helps, and best wishes!
