American Express Business Green Rewards Card Rewards
- 15,000 Membership Rewards® points after spending $3,000 in eligible purchases (i.e., purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits) within the first three months of opening an account
- 2x points per dollar spent on flights and prepaid hotel stays booked on amextravel.com
- 1x points per dollar spent on all other eligible purchases
There’s no limit to the number of points you can earn, and points don’t expire as long as your account remains open and in good standing. Note that the following are not considered eligible purchases and, therefore, will not earn rewarding points:
- Fees or interest charges
- Purchases of traveler’s checks
- Prepaid cards reload
- Purchases of gift cards
- Person-to-person payments
- Purchases of other cash equivalents
The value of your points varies according to how you choose to use them. Here are a few ways to redeem your points and their corresponding value:
- Pay with points at checkout: When you use your points to pay at checkout in selected merchants, such as Amazon, Best Buy, PayPal, Staples, Dell.com, and more), rewards are worth between 7/10ths of a cent and 1 cent per point, depending on the merchant.
- Redeem for gift cards: When points are redeemed for gift cards, they are worth between 5/10ths of a cent and 1 cent per point, depending on the merchant.
- Use as a statement credit: You can use your points to cover your credit card charges—1x point is equivalent to 6/10ths of a cent.
- Book or upgrade travel: You can also redeem points for travel and hotel stays at American Express Travel—the value per point ranges from between 5/10ths of a cent and 1 cent.
- Transfer points to a frequent traveler program: If you choose to transfer your points to a frequent traveler program, the program partners will determine how many points are required to get rewards in specific programs. Note that this requires an additional fee of 6/10ths of a cent per point, with a maximum fee of $99, which will be charged to your credit card account.
- Shop with merchant partners: You can use your rewards to shop with American Express merchant partners to cover all or part of your purchase. For this redemption option, points are worth 5/10ths of a cent each.
