Check out our guide on how to hire an engineer for step-by-step instructions.
1. Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional association and has over 400,000 engineering professional members. Posting your engineering job here will put your company in front of thousands of skilled engineers, many of whom are specialized in the field you need.
While IEEE’s job post prices are competitive, its value comes when you get an upgraded plan—which puts your job in front of its most active candidates, sends it to other job boards, and emails it directly to candidates matching your job requirements. The big downside here is that you cannot view resumes through a search. You may be notified of candidates matching your needs but to see more than a summary, you’ll need to pay $35 to get access to their resume and contact information.
Job Posting Costs
- $299 per ad: 30-day job post
- $749 per ad: 30-day job post, plus distribution to over 1,000 other job boards
2. National Society of Professional Engineers
The National Society of Professional Engineers offers you nearly 7,000 searchable resumes and has more than 10,000 monthly site visitors. It boasts nearly 2,000 average views per job posting—that’s a good number of potential applicants viewing your open position.
You also get the ability to search resumes and profiles created by candidates, letting you reach out to passive candidates. Because you can get your job in front of both active and passive applicants, it’s an exceptional way to expand your talent pool.
Job Posting & Membership Costs
- $295 per ad (member pricing); $495 per ad (non-member pricing): 30-day job post, full resume search access, and member email distribution
- $299 annually: Membership fee for an engineering professional. So, if you have someone on staff who qualifies, you can sign up that way. Companies can get discounted membership rates but have to sponsor multiple employees to get it.
The National Society of Professional Engineers also has pricing options for more job posts, longer job posts, and additional employer resources like branding.
3. Engineeringjobs.net
Engineeringjobs.net does not provide details about how many users are on its site. It does note, however, that each job post goes in front of “thousands of engineers,” so you’re likely to get some good traction.
To post a job, you’ll need to register for an account, which is free. You can upload your company logo, giving a simple but nice branding to your job posting. One of its biggest benefits is that you can link it to your applicant tracking system (ATS) to seamlessly integrate data about each candidate with your software.
Job Posting Cost
- $199 per ad: 60-day job post
4. Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
SWE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the education and support of female engineers. It has over 40,000 members in nearly 100 different engineering fields, so you’re likely to find someone to fit your position. It caters to a niche audience, but its job posting options include upgrades that will get your job seen by people outside of SWE membership.
Job Posting and Add-on Costs
- $220 per ad: 30-day job post
- $570 per ad: 30-day job post, plus have your job emailed to all of its members and expand your reach to additional job boards
- $400 for seven days if you want to search resumes and reach out to candidates
5. American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
ASCE is the country’s oldest engineering organization, supporting civil engineers and employers. It currently has over 150,000 members, and if you’re one, you can get a 20% discount on the cost of your job post.
It provides education, training, and support for employees and employers in the civil engineering industry and those still studying. Developing a relationship with civil engineering students may help you recruit them to your company once they graduate.
Job Posting Costs
- $595 per ad: 30-day job post
- $895 per ad: 30-day job post, plus you can search resumes and contact candidates directly
- Post for free if you’re looking for an intern; you need to register first
6. American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC)
ACEC is one of the largest engineering associations with over 600,000 members. Posting a job here gives you access to all of these industry professionals and to over 40 partner job sites.
Candidates can upload their resumes, so you can search for passive candidates. ACEC includes the ability to search resumes in every plan—many of the other options on our list charge extra or only include it in premium tiers.
Job Posting & Membership Costs
- $295 per (member pricing): 30-day job posting

Part of the American Chemical Society, C&EN gives you access to over 150,000 potential candidates with specialized skills in chemical engineering and related sciences. Through this job board, your position will also be distributed to over 31 million scientific researchers.
C&EN only offers three job posting packages, making for a simplified approach. If you need to post for multiple positions at once, you’ll need to contact its support team for pricing.

8. iHireEngineering
iHireEngineering is part of the iHire Network, a large organization of job posting sites. It says it has 16 million candidates, but that’s across the entire network, not just engineers.
The biggest benefit to iHireEngineering is its network of job sites. If you hire for more industries than just engineering, you can swap jobs as frequently as you like and post to different job boards within the iHire Network. Each job post also comes with a branded email alert sent to candidates matching your needs, a built-in ATS, and an automatic 15-day job post refresh, pushing your job to the top of the search results.
Job Posting Cost
- $299 per month or $266 billed quarterly: One job post

Are There Free Engineering Job Posting Sites?
Unfortunately, there are no free job boards specifically designed to help you hire engineers, but using any of the above engineer job boards should give you great results, helping you hire the right type of employee for your needs.
As with hiring any other employee, consider a general use job board like Indeed or ZipRecruiter. On Indeed, your job posting is absolutely free, whereas ZipRecruiter gives you a few free days and offers daily pricing, something you won’t find on any of these engineering job posting sites.
Additionally, jobs.google.com provides a free way to advertise your position—but it’s not as simple as just posting a job ad. Google only shows your job posting when you’ve posted it somewhere else, like your company’s career page, Indeed, or ZipRecruiter. If you use the latter option, the two companies have an integration, which will show your job in Google results, with the right keywords.

Bottom Line
Using a specialized engineer job posting site ensures your job isn’t lost in the mix with all the other jobs. This approach also allows you to target skilled candidates, helping you find the best employee for your open engineering position quickly.
