- Offline payments: Not all POS systems are capable of processing credit card payments without an internet connection, but Clover can do so. Clover could have scored better as an iPad point-of-sale system if it had a more complete set of tools for inventory management, business management, and ecommerce in its basic plan.
It would also have been good to have the option to use non-proprietary hardware, as well as the option to reprogram hardware if desired. Clover also has a somewhat confusing pricing scheme. Because this POS is widely available from a large number of resellers, your overall experience of the system (including its pricing) can vary greatly. If you want the most consistent and predictable experience, it’s best to purchase directly from Clover.
